On Tuesday 25 October 2022 at around 12:00 Members were notified of a stolen Toyota Hilux Bakkie. Members quickly mobilised and started searching for the vehicle. The suspects used a signal jammer to block tracking signals from the vehicle.
One of the responding members spotted the vehicle standing in a property in Sharpville with the suspects busy stripping the vehicle trying to locate the tracking unit.
All other members immediately proceeded to the location. On arrival the suspects fled the scene on foot jumping over walls to get away. Members gave chase and managed to apprehend one of the suspects.
The suspect was in possession of
- Stolen Vehicle
- Signal Jammer
- Tools
The suspect and evidence was booked by SAPS as per Case Vereeniging 330/10/2022
The stolen vehicle was booked at SAP13 as per Vereeniging VSS SAP13/1043
